By creating an account, obtaining an API key, or otherwise accessing WASID ("the Service"), you ("Customer", "you") agree to these Terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind it.

These Terms incorporate the Acceptable Use Policy (Acceptable Use Policy), the Refund Policy (Refund Policy, once billing is live), the Privacy Policy (Privacy Policy) and Cookie Policy (Cookie Policy). For negotiated enterprise deals, a signed Master Services Agreement (Master Services Agreement) controls over these Terms, with the Data Processing Agreement (Data Processing Agreement) attached where we process personal data on the customer's behalf. These Terms are the default click-through baseline for everyone else.

1. What WASID is

WASID ("Whole Africa Sentinel Intelligence Data") is a continent-wide operational risk-intelligence service. It ingests candidate risk events from public sources and measurement instruments (satellite, thermal, weather, marine, and similar), attempts to verify each candidate across multiple independent signals, and makes verified events available to customers through an API and, for the Watch tier, a watchlist/alerting system.

Service tiers (as offered today): - Signal — access to the verified risk-event feed via API. - Watch — Signal, plus the ability to register your own sites/routes and receive proximity alerts against the verified feed. - Analyst — internal/partner tier with ingestion and verification access to the event queue.

WASID verifies each candidate claim by checking it against multiple independent signals (the product is designed around six such signal categories) and supports content across a wide range of African languages (currently up to 41). Where a candidate cannot be corroborated, WASID is designed to say so rather than present it as confirmed.

2. Verified data, not a guarantee — please read this section

WASID provides risk intelligence. It is not a warranty of safety, and it is not a substitute for your own judgment, on-the-ground assessment, or professional security/safety advice.

Verification means an analyst (or, for measurement-derived events, an automated process meeting a defined evidence standard) confirmed a candidate event met our internal verification criteria and assigned a confidence score. It does not mean the event is certain, complete, or that no other risk exists that WASID has not yet detected or verified.
Absence of a WASID alert for a location or route is not confirmation that the location or route is safe. It may mean no qualifying event has yet been reported, verified, or detected by our current sources and sensors — coverage is not, and cannot be claimed to be, complete or real-time everywhere.
You must not treat WASID as the sole basis for life-safety decisions (e.g. evacuation, travel go/no-go, armed response, or any decision where the consequence of being wrong is death or serious injury) without independent corroboration and your own risk process. WASID is one input among several a competent risk function should use.
We do not label our verification process as "AI underwriting" or promise a specific accuracy rate, and you should not rely on any such characterisation from anyone other than us in writing.
To the extent permitted by law, we make no warranty, express or implied, that the Service is accurate, complete, timely, or fit for any particular purpose, beyond what is expressly stated in a signed order form or DPA/MSA with you, if any.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to: - Use the Service to identify, locate, profile, or surveil a named individual. WASID's data model is events-and-places by design; using it, or attempting to combine it with other data, to build a profile of a specific person is prohibited and outside the intended use of the Service. - Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the feed or alert data to a third party without our prior written consent, except as expressly permitted by your plan tier or a separate written agreement. - Attempt to circumvent API rate limits, authentication, or plan-tier restrictions. - Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract the underlying source list, model prompts, or verification methodology in a manner designed to replicate the Service. - Use the Service in a way that violates applicable law, including data protection law in any jurisdiction where you operate. - Misrepresent WASID data as your own original reporting, or misrepresent an unverified/dismissed candidate as verified.

The full Acceptable Use Policy (Acceptable Use Policy) expands on this section and is part of these Terms. We may suspend or terminate access for a violation, with notice where practicable (see §8).

4. API keys, accounts, and tiers

Your API key is issued to you personally or to your organisation and must be kept confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your key.
We store keys only as a salted one-way hash; if you lose your key, we cannot recover it — we can only issue a new one and revoke the old one.
Rate limits and feature access are enforced per plan tier as described in our documentation. We give existing paying customers at least 30 days' notice of changes that materially reduce their tier's rate limits or features.
We may suspend a key that we reasonably believe is compromised, being abused, or being used to violate §3.

5. Fees and billing

Fees for paid tiers are as set out in your order form, account dashboard, or a signed agreement.
Fees are billed monthly or annually per your order form, in EUR or USD as stated there.
Refunds are governed by the Refund Policy (Refund Policy), applicable once paid billing is live.
Stated fees are exclusive of VAT/sales/withholding taxes, which are the Customer's responsibility where applicable.
We may suspend access for non-payment beginning 14 days after written notice of the overdue amount.

6. Intellectual property

We (or our licensors) own all right, title, and interest in the Service, including the verification methodology, software, and the compiled/verified event database. Public-source facts underlying an event are not "owned" by us, but the verified, structured, and corroborated dataset we produce is our proprietary work product.
You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Service and its data during your subscription term, for your organisation's internal risk-management purposes, subject to §3.
Any feedback you give us about the Service may be used by us without restriction or compensation to you. Enterprise customers may negotiate different feedback terms in an MSA.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law: - The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation. - Neither party will be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to the Service. - Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the total fees you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred US dollars (US$100) — except for liability that cannot be limited by law (e.g. fraud, gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or death/personal injury caused by our negligence). - Given §2, you specifically acknowledge that you bear responsibility for any life-safety decision made using WASID data, and that our liability for such decisions is limited as set out above and in any signed agreement.

8. Term, suspension, and termination

These Terms apply from your first access to the Service until terminated.
You may terminate by ceasing use and, where applicable, cancelling your subscription per your billing terms.
We may suspend or terminate your access for a material breach of these Terms (including §3), for non-payment (§5), or if required by law, with notice where reasonably practicable.
On termination, your right to access the Service ends; any personal data we processed on your behalf is handled per the DPA (deletion or return within 30 days on request); provisions that by their nature should survive (IP, limitation of liability, confidentiality, governing law) survive.

9. Confidentiality

Each party may access the other's confidential information in connection with the Service. Each party agrees to protect the other's confidential information with reasonable care and not disclose it except as needed to perform under these Terms or as required by law. Enterprise deals receive the fuller mutual confidentiality clause in the MSA.

10. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ghana, except that for customers domiciled outside Ghana, either party may elect final, binding arbitration seated in Accra, conducted in English under the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules by a sole arbitrator. Nothing in this section deprives a customer of mandatory protections of the law of their home jurisdiction that cannot be contractually waived.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. For changes that materially affect existing paying customers, we will give at least 30 days' notice by email to the account contact before the change takes effect; the "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
